MOUNTAINS
A POEM BY BEN PARKER - 3/5/17
i dont even know how all
this happened in one week
a domino effect thats left
my future looking bleak
they tell me just to climb
the mountain but not everyone
reaches Everest's peak
its left me finding something
greater to seek than
real life demons and
internet cliques
give me 5 reasons for breathing
when all the good aspects of
my reality keep leaving
this conveyer belt needs to
change from the snail to the rabbit
at least im staying clean and
im yet to gain a habit
but theres trends in the pattern
theres tides in this ocean
theres rhythm in the motion
of the actions ive been taking
if i told you all my stories then
you'd probably think im faking
millionaires in my tree
millennials continue making
a better future
everything we do is for the dead
i need some more conclusion
like a hole in the head
first world issues
but even some kids here
arent being fed
but i got angels that surround me
friends and family that never fled
they kept me grounded
like a delayed flight
how i crave to go back to
those easier times
blind to what would be
to my old friends
and my new ones
my doors still open
come see me
